I have many years of experience in the technical world, and as a result I have an excellent understanding as to what works and what doesn't in a technical development environment. I have also had a good deal of experience outside the technical world, which I believe is necessary to have a balanced perspective. I have both led teams and been a team member. Not every project was a success, of course, but I did learn something from every project, and can use that to help make our future projects together be successful.
Over the years I've been a DBA, a class librarian, a coder, an instructor, a manager, a conference speaker, a tech lead, a developer advocate, and more. So while I can adapt to a variety of roles, I've found that I am most effective when I'm working as a member of a community, especially FOSS communities.
Of course, a full employment history and references are available upon request.
I've played many roles in different organizations, but there are some things that you can always depend on from me.
You don't have to be perfect on all of these, of course, but they are all important. I've learned that if you're a company that doesn't value these things, I probably won't be a very good fit for you.
